Facts/Problem ------------- - There is a governance proposal that reduces complexity in the TYPO3 Project, based on the current people/resources available: TYPO3 Governance in 2025 [Link to original proposal document] [Editor's note: This is the original proposal to structure the TYPO3 community in Units, authoried by Benni Mack (22 Apr 2025)]. - The proposal and the potential synergy effects with the new Structure of TYPO3 GmbH are the most promising approach in terms of TCO for the whole project. - For the first time, we see plans in reduced complexity with the promise of better results from a management perspective. We do have multiple Tasks to tackle, documentation for example: [Link to inaccessible file; Editor's note: this linked to a Google Document that the editor did not have access to] Objective --------- - **Mandate TYPO3 GmbH to disciplinary** implement the Governance Proposal - **Win existing community members** in relevant positions to reach the strategic goals of the TYPO3 Project sustainably - Establish **Management Positions within the Company, for the Project**, and fund them - **Reduce the budget requirement** for the TYPO3 Association in collaboration with the treasurer and the BCC - Collaborative **documentation, review and execution of processes** with community stakeholders - Regain trust and rebuild ownership - **Establish** a collaborative and accepted approach to **decision-making** in the interest of TYPO3 Obligations to cooperate ------------------------ - Teams - Employees of the TYPO3 company - Bodies of the TYPO3 Association Financial and human resources impacts ------------------------------------- - The current TYPO3 Structure can be leaner and more cost-efficient or cost-aware: [Link to inaccessible file; Editor's note: this linked to a Google Document that the editor did not have access to] Resolution/Petitum ------------------ 1. Build **dedicated positions** that by contract are supposed to take **leading roles** in the TYPO3 Ecosystem **without** the Companies **Management** being **authorized to issue instructions**! This is meant to protect the Open Source Approach for TYPO3. 2. TYPO3 GmbH serves as a business partner, consultant, advisor and enabler to all TYPO3 Units. 3. **Completion of the Product Strategy Group Cycle** and **introduction of the refined Unit-Concept** as stated in the governance proposal.
