# Language {#typo3-request-attribute-language}

The `language` frontend request attribute provides information about the
current language of the webpage via the
`\TYPO3\CMS\Core\Site\Entity\SiteLanguage` object.

Example:

```php
$language = $request->getAttribute('language');
$locale = $language->getLocale();
```
