Creating Pages

There are two ways to add a page to a site using the page tree. You can either drag
and drop from icons above the page tree or you can use the context menu by right-clicking
on an existing page inside the page tree.

To start adding pages:

* Select the :guilabel:`Content > Layout` module in the backend.
* Expand the page tree so that all of its subpages are visible (optional).

Adding pages using drag and drop
================================

Along the top of the page tree is a :guilabel:`+ Page` button on the upper left
next to a row of icons. The row of icons represent different page types. Create a
new page either by clicking on the :guilabel:`+ Page` button or by dragging and
dropping from the relevant icon into the page tree below. In both cases a pop up
modal will appear.

#. Choose your page type. If you have clicked on the :guilabel:`+ Page` button
   choose your page type in the modal. Otherwise, decide which page type you want
   from the row of icons. In this example we are creating a standard page.

#. Choose where you want the page to be in the page tree. If you have dragged from an icon, drop it on top of an existing page to
   create a child page. If you clicked on the :guilabel:`+ Page` button, select the parent
   page in the pop up modal. Select/drop on to the root page if you want to create a page
   at the top level. You can always move the page around later by dragging and dropping.

#. In the pop up modal give the new page a title.

New pages are disabled by default. Scroll down in the modal to see where you can enable
the page while you are creating it or right-click the page once it has been created and select :guilabel:`Enable`.
Another way to enable the page after it has been created is under the :guilabel:`Access`
tab in the page properties.

Adding pages using the context menu
===================================

Right-click any existing page and choose :guilabel:`New subpage` from the context menu.
