# Create categories and colors {#quick-categories}

Categories connect events with the filter and give them a color. Create system
categories as usual (module **Records**, record type **Category**)
and assign them to feeds or calendarize events.

The extension adds the tab **Fullcalendar** to every category:

-   **Color**

    Color of the events of this category and of its checkbox in the filter.
    The color of a feed has precedence over the color of its categories.

-   **Restrict to frontend usergroup**

    The category, and the events with this category, are only visible for logged-in
    users of one of the selected groups. The special values *Hide at login* and
    *Show at any login* are available, too.
