# News indexer {#indexers-news}

The news indexer indexes news records of EXT:news. It is only available
when EXT:news is installed.

To use it, create an indexing service of type **News** and select
the pages that store the news records, see
[Indexing service](https://docs.typo3.org/permalink/meine-krankenkasse/typo3-search-algolia:configuration-indexing-service@2.0).

## Fields {#indexers-news-fields}

The news indexer sends the [standard fields](https://docs.typo3.org/permalink/meine-krankenkasse/typo3-search-algolia:indexers-standard-fields@2.0)
and the mapped news fields, which default to:
