What does it do?
================
Mathtex is an extension to display mathematical formula on your website. It works only on Unix servers. 
It creates formula images on the fly and is based on the extension mimetex. 
The extension uses LaTex and mimeTeX to render the images.

The extension renders LaTeX formula to an image. 
For more information how to write a formula see the mimeTeX- and LaTex documentations.

To get this working, you have to extend the page typoscript setup on your root page
to  extend the layout selector of the content element see :ref:`admin-manual`.
