Features¶
The Google Ads for TYPO3 integration provides an easy to use interface that allows you to create, manage, and supervise Google Ads from within the TYPO3 Backend.
Let’s take a look at the features included.
Ad Creation¶
Since you already manage your content in TYPO3 CMS, creating ads from within the TYPO3 backend can save you time.
Using one of the four entry points decribed at Creating a new ad, it will take only a few steps to create an ad for a page. The extension actively supports you by pre-filling fields with relevant data of the page you create an ad for. For example the page title will be used as headline and keywords will be pre-selected according to the SEO settings of the page.
You can then adjust both the settings and the content to your liking while a preview will keep track of your adjustments and shows what the ad will look like in the Google Search results.
Performance Reporting¶
Performance data like impressions, clicks, average CPC (cost per click), and total cost per campaign are available in the campaign detail view. See Campaign detail view for more information.
Overview of created ads¶
There are two ways to access an overview of created ads, the Campaigns module and the page in the TYPO3 backend itself.
Campaigns Module¶
The Campaigns module provides an overview list of all ad campaigns created in the TYPO3 backend.
Campaign detail view¶
The campaign detail view provides information about the campaign and the connected ads.
The information includes:
- Status
- Budget
- Start-Date and End-Date
- Ad delivery schedule
- Locations
- Keywords
- Statistics
Page Properties¶
Every page serving as a landing page for a Google Ad will contain a tab Google Ads in its page properties. Additionally, a list of ads and their current status are displayed.
Campaign Management¶
The Google Ads for TYPO3 integration provides easy to use management giving you control over your ad campaigns.
You can pause and resume campaigns with a click. (This comes in handy during editing of a page for example.)
You can adjust the budget per day and rename a campaign. (Renaming a campaign will have no impact on the performance of your ads, but makes campaigns easier to distinguish in the campaign overview and Google Ads UI.)
You can delete a campaign and its attatched ads.
Note
Once created, Google ads can not be edited. If you want to change an ad you will have to delete it and create a new one.
