Introduction¶

What does it do?¶

Enables having a specific navigation title per language for pages in typoscript menus in multi language sites. This extension is only for multi language sites organized with one-tree-fits-all-languages concept (see http://typo3.org/documentation/tips-tricks/multi- language-sites-in-typo3/ for details).

In details : adds "nav_title" field in the alternative languages pages header and enables "nav_title" field in "shortcut"type pages header.

Users manual¶

To add a specific navigation title to an alternative language page (you must have existing alternative language pages) :

Click on “Web > page” module
Select a page
Select the “Languages” submodule in the right frame
Edit the header of the alternative language page in the right frame
Edit “Page title in menus” fields
Save. That's it !! Now see this new page title in your TS menus in frontend

Configuration¶

This extension has been designed for Typo3.5. No configuration needed for this version .
Be aware that this extension extends framework class “t3lib_pageSelect” (from file t3lib/class.t3lib_page.php) and includes the code of pk_limitmenutolangextension which already extends the class “t3lib_pageSelect”. If another installed extension already extends this class (pk_limitmenutolangexcepted) you will have troubles.
You can use this extension withTypo3.6 but first you have to manuallyedit the file “altern_lang_page_link/ext_localconf.php” and comment the line which is beginningby : $TYPO3_CONF_VARS["FE"]["XCLASS"]["t3lib/class.t3lib_page.php"]=This is because Typo3.6 framework already includes some necessary changes. Sorry but I didn't find an automatic way to do this.
