Introduction¶
What does it do?¶
With this extension you can influence the solr index and boost several pages with keywords. You can define three individual boost levels. Furthermore you can exclude pages from the index based on keywords.
This extension was originally developed for the TYPO3 agency Connecta AG, Wiesbaden, Germany (http://www.connecta.ag/typo3.html).
Screenshots¶
This screenshot shows the Solr Keywords tab in the page properties where you can define keywords to boost the selected page in the solr index. By filling in the Exclude keywords field, you can exclude the page from search results (when someone searches for the exclude keyword).
In the Constant Editor in the Template section of TYPO3 you can define
the Solr boost factor for the keyword bundles. After re-indexing the
Solr index it will influence the score of each page at the search
result.
Users manual
------------
Open the page properties of any page in your page tree. On the Solr Keywords tab you find input fields for three predefined boost levels. Each field can be filled with a keyword or a comma-separated list of keywords.
Start re-indexing of your Solr index. The Solr ranking for each page where you have entered keywords will be influenced.
We suggest to use a scheduler task for re-indexing.
Administration¶
Install Solr Keywords extension with the extension manager.
Add the static template to your root template.
You may want to modify boost factors in Constant Editor.
Known problems¶
No problems are known.
