Introduction

What does it do?

This extension provides common components for record listings. It consists of four essential parts:

  • page browser
  • sorter (sort records per column)
  • letter selection (choose records by a letter)
  • file link parser (identify file type, set icon, show file size)

All in all the significance of the “components” extension is to reduce code redundancy for parts you often use, like a page browser. Please notice that you have to supply the data, i.e. the number of records required by the page browser or the column name used by the sorter function.

User manual

Please use the extension manager (Extension-Key: components) for installing the extension. After installing choose whether you want to replace the tt_news page browser and/or the indexed_search page browser. The initial state is set to replace these extension page browsers with the page browser provided by the components extension.

In order to give you an idea of what this extension does, just insert the extension as general plugin on a random page (choose component test). With the help of the class “tx_components_pi1” you get an insight into using this extension correctly.
