Introduction¶

What does it do?¶

It is a backend module which enables users to edit localization of the TYPO3 backend directly in the backend (rather than using the TYPO3.org framework). It detects all locallang-XML files in local/global/system extension folders and provides an editing interface for each one of them.

Users of this extension will be:

Translators of TYPO3 backend, both chief and assisting translators.
Extension Authors who want to create locallang-XML based documentation (probably Context Sensitive Help) or general XML based localization for their extensions.
Documentation Team members creating new Context Sensitive Help (CSH) or editing / reviewing existing.

The user manual is supplied - for the sake of the good example - as Context Sensitive Help inside the module.

Folder for images¶

The translation tool offers an easy way to apply images for your CSH content. For each CSH element you will have a selector box from which you can select any image file name found in the subfolder "cshfolder/" of the file location of the locallang-XML file.
