Changelog 6

Introduction

What does it do?

This extension tries to perform all steps necessary to use the scheduler. This includes creating the backend-user “_cli_scheduler” (if it doesnt exist), checking for sufficient rights on the scheduler- script (cli_dispatch.phpsh) and fixing them if necessary as well as creating the cronjob to call the script.

Installation

To use this extension, download and install it.

img-1

After installation, check the Info-Section of the extension in Extension Manager. Select “Check update script” to perform the necessary steps.

Autoinstall scheduler will now try to evaluate the correct path to php5, determine the correct path to the scheduler-script and – based on this data – create a cronjob which will run every minute.

When running the script the first time, it will generate some output about installation progress and result.

Verifying successful installation

After running the update-script without any errors, wait about one minute, switch to the Scheduler-section in “Admin Tools” and select “Setup Check”. This is what you should see:

Congratulations, your cron is running and your scheduler is ready to be filled with tasks.

Deinstallation

Since TYPO3 doesnt (yet) offer any possibility to perfom cleanup- scripts when deactivating an extension, you need to deactivate the cron manually.

End note

Please consider the fact, that there are lots of system-configurations out there. There is no guarantee, that this extension will work properly, especially since noone can say, which security-settings and file-permissions are set in every single system. By now, this extension has been tested with vanilla LAMP-Systems as well as LAMP- systems based on ispCP ( http://isp-control.net/ ).

Experiences with other system-configurations, bugsreports as well as comments will be appreciated.
