Introduction

What does it do?

Orbit is an easy, powerful, responsive image slider that allows users to swipe on touch-enabled devices. Orbit responsive slider is a part of the most advanced responsive front-end framework in the world Foundation.

This is how it looks with default settings of slider.

img-3 User Manual -----------

Orbit slider is a part of Foundation framework and in order to use it you have to include Foundation files in you page at first.

The easiest way is with the extension "df_foundation5". Download, install and include necessary templates (see image at 3.).

Another option is to include Foundation files with Typoscript, it is more flexible solution. I prefer this solution.

Here are the steps:

  1. Download the Extension

2. Go to “Extension Manager” of your TYPO3-Page and upload the Extension and then activate it.

Include the Static Templates following the image below:

img-4 4. Create Sysfolder

Go to Page > Create new pages > Folder. Drag “Folder” to your Pagetree. Rename that folder to e.g. “slider”.

  1. Add Slider Items

Go to List > “Your storage folder” > Create new record. Click on “Orbit” in order to create an object.

img-5 Slides must be added with "Create new" of field "Images", see the image above

6. Go to Page > Select the page where you want to put the slider > New content element > Plugins > General Plugin > from dropdown menu "Selected Plugin" choose "orbit_foundation".

7. Tab "Behaviour" and from "Record Storage page" select your storage page "slider", see image belowYou can change default settings of orbit slider through field "settings", see the image below for assistance.

img-6 Language should be non-technical, explaining, using small examples.

Examples: For the "News" plugin this would be a manual showing how to create the news-items, explaining the options etc.

Target group: Users, Administrators or Developers in that priority. Depends on the extension.
