Introduction¶
Thanks to...¶
Special thanks go to Tiina Kellosalo, who gracefully made the translations for finnish and swedish language! :-)
What does it do?¶
Snow is a type of precipitation in the form of crystalline water ice, consisting of a multitude of snowflakes that fall from clouds. The TYPO3 extension Snow Flurry uses this – virtual – form of crystalline water ice to give your website a bit of a winterish atmosphere. ;-)
It uses a JavaScript snow script, which can be turned on/off in the TYPO3 backend. Editors (aka non-administrators) are able to use it if the admin gives the user/group permissions to see it.
See german documentation at: http://typo3.schloebe.de/extensions /snow-flurry/
Available Languages: German, English, Finnish, Swedish

Users manual¶
- Simply install the Plugin from TER
- Do not forget to insert the static infos 'Schnee Script (os_snow)' in your root-template under Include static!
Adminstration¶
None, but there's a module put in menu's Web section where you can turn the snow on/off in FE output.
Configuration¶
None yet, but planned. ;-)
FAQ¶
These are just a few hints of using this extension.
1. I turned on the snow in the BE module, but no snowflakes appear in FE?¶
It might be necessary to clear the FE-cache after you switched the activation status of the plugin. To permit non-administrators to clear the FE-cache, use the plugin 'cl_becache'.
Known problems¶
Probably none at the moment. If you find one, please contact me.
To-Do list¶
Adding configuration options, such as
- location of snow image
- number of snowflakes
- speed of snowflakes to fall
Should be more? Let me know .
