Introduction¶
This extension provides several examples for the “th_genericlist” extension.
Please don't use these examples in your projects! If you want to do so, please copy the correspondingTypoScript and template files from the “th_genericlist_example” extension to “/fileadmin/” or somewhere else.
Examples can change from update to update without warranty that they are compatible or fully functional.
You can find a dropdown with the predefined examples in the plugin element (see “screenshot section”).
What does it do?¶
This extension provides several examples for the “th_genericlist” extension.
The examples shows you what is possible with the “th_genericlist” extension and how it's done.
General information¶
Requirements:
- th_genericlist (latest release)
- activate the static template “Genericlist Examples” in your TypoScript template
- to enable the folder-picker for the “Start directory” field, you have to install the ext. “rgfolderselector” (should be in core since TYPO3 4.2)
Example 1: FileMode (Image Gallery based on DAM)¶
Requirements:¶

- to enable the folder-picker for the “Start directory” field, you have to install the ext. “rgfolderselector” (should be in core since TYPO3 4.2)
Description:¶
Shows variouse image galleries based on DAM extension.
Select (or type in) the starting directory in the “Start directory” field (a picker is provided if you have installed the “rgfolderselector” extension).
The current configuration is set to “recursive” mode which shows all images from the chosen directory or from the subdirectories.
Howto disable recursive mode:
plugin.tx_thgenericlist_pi1.tables.examples_filemode_mixed_listView.tx_dam.fileMode.recursive.value = 0
You can choose from the following predefined views:
- Image Gallery List-Mode (mixed mode)
- Image Gallery Detail-View (mixed mode)
- Image Gallery List-View (file mode)
- Image Gallery Detail-View (file mode)
- Image Gallery List-View (db mode)
- Image Gallery Detail-View (db mode)
Where's the difference?
- file mode: This shows all images from the defined directory. No access check is done.
- db mode: Ony images having a DAM record are shown. Access is checked based on fe_groups given in DAM record.
- mixed mode: Mixture between “file” and “db” mode. All files are shown – except the ones having a DAM record where the currently logged in user does not have access to (based on fe_groups).
Settings:¶
- set the constant “ th_genericlist_example_filemode_recordfolder = 10” to the sys- page-ID where the DAM records are created OR
- fill out the “start page” field in the plugin settings (choose the sys-page where the DAM records are stored)

Configuration and usage¶
- activate the static TypoScript template “Genericlist Examples” in your TypoScript template.
- insert a “plugin” element on a page and choose “Universal List Module” from the extension dropdown.
- now select one of the predefined examples listed in the dropdown “List type”.
- carefully read the documentation of the used examples. sometimes it's necessary to set some TypoScript constant values e.g. for page-IDs).
FAQs¶
Q: I cann't find the dropdown where the examples should be listed.
A: Check if you have installed the latest version of “th_genericlist”. If this doesn't fix the problem, make sure you have activated the static-template “Genericlist Examples” in your root- TypoScript template.
