Introduction

What does it do?

This extension provides pre-mapped TemplaVoila template based on Andreas Viklund's creative work ( http://www.andreasviklund.com/ ). It includes the following:

  • Template files (html, css and images) for 2- and 3-column template
  • TypoScript code with pre-build TemplaVoila objects (menu, copyright, frontpage teaser for news and page object)
  • T3D file that to import TemplaVoila data source and template object

Using this extension, web site creators can have site up and running within minutes.

This extension is not possible to use with MTB templating (no markers in the file).

Notice: copyright to this templates stays with Andreas Viklund. You may not remove copyright notice without his permission.

Users manual

This extension is not user-manageable. TYPO3 administrators should read “Administration” section to know how to use this extension.

Adminstration

Create page structure for your web site. It may look like this:

img-2

The only signficant bit here is “General record storage”. Administrator needs to ensure that this page is set as general record storage for the root page of the site (“Welcome”on the picture above). Here main page (“Welcome”) is a shortcut for “Home”, which makes menu generation much easier.

Create main template at the root page of the site (use Web>Template module while on the root page). Do not forget to enter web site title. It will be shown at the top of the site.

Import tmpl_andreas01 from TER and install.

Now copy andreas01.t3d file from extensions directory (usually typo3conf/ext/tmpl_andreas01) to your fileadmin directory.

Click on the “General record storage” page and select “More options...” in the menu. Select “Import from T3D” in the opened menu.

Import andreas01.t3d file accepting all default values. You can delete this file from fileadmin now.

Go to the Web>Template module and open Constant Editor. Select PLUGIN.TMPL_ANDREAS01 in the selector box at the top and update available options. See “Reference” section in this manual if you have questions about these options.

Go to “Info/Modify” and select “Click here to edit the whole template record”. Scroll down to “Include static (from extensions)“. Select “Andreas01 (tmpl_andreas01)” from the box on the right. If you plan to use mininews extension on this site, select “Andreas01 (mininews as news) (tmpl_andreas01)” after “Andreas01 (tmpl_andreas01)”. The order is very important!

Click on the root page of web site and select “Edit page properties”. Scroll down to “Page template structure” and select “Andreas01” there. Alternatively click icon below selector box.

After page reload select template object. You can choose from:

  • Andreas01 / 2 columns
  • Andreas01 / 2 columns / with news
  • Andreas01 / 3 columns
  • Andreas01 / 3 columns / with news

If you do not plan to show news listing on a frontpage, select any template without news. If you plan to use frontpage listing, use template with news only on that specific page. Use template without news on any other page.
