Release 14.0.0 

We are happy to announce new major version 14.0 of EXT:tika for TYPO3 14 LTS.

!!! [TASK] Remove Solr Cell support 

Apache Solr no longer ships a proper Content Extraction Library (Solr Cell), so using an EXT:solr connection as a Tika extractor is not possible anymore. The "Solr Server" extractor, its EM configuration ( solrScheme , solrHost , solrPort , ...) and SolrCellService have been removed.

Registration of MetaDataExtractor and LanguageDetector no longer happens manually in ext_localconf.php via ExtractorRegistry::registerExtractionService() , which is a no-op since TYPO3 14. Both extractors already implement ExtractorInterface , so TYPO3 14 registers them automatically - no action required on your side.

### Impact:

  • extractor = solr is no longer a valid EXT:tika configuration value.
  • apache-solr-for-typo3/solr is only required as a dev-dependency for tests and tooling, not at runtime anymore.

[FEATURE] Basic-Auth and timeouts for Tika Server 

The Server extractor now supports HTTP Basic-Auth ( tikaServerUsername / tikaServerPassword , both masked) and configurable connect/request timeouts ( tikaServerConnectTimeoutMs / tikaServerRequestTimeoutMs , 100-60000 ms). Any other Guzzle client option (verify, proxy, cert, ...) can be set via tikaServerGuzzleOptions in config/system/additional.php. See Configuration of Tika Server for details.
