Special characters
Q: What characters can I use?
A: You may enter any Unicode character directly. There is no other way to specify characters. The default encoding of a file is utf-8.
Keep in mind that while you CAN use any Unicode character not all of them will be displayed. In general fonts contain glyphs for common characters only.
Dashes are not translated
Write a dash as the character it is, — for an em dash or – for an en
dash. The rendering passes -- and --- through as the hyphens you typed.
Sphinx replaces them, because its smartquotes
setting is on by default and educates dashes along with quotes and ellipses.
This rendering has no such transform, so both reach the reader unchanged.
Prefix the summary line with the type of change — `[TASK]`, `[BUGFIX]`
or `[FEATURE]` — followed by a short, imperative summary.
